Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the Housekeeping Education website and the purchase and use of the Certificate in Housekeeping online course (referred to as “the Course”). By accessing the website, creating an account or purchasing the Course, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Important note: This document is provided as general information only and does not replace independent legal advice.
1. About the Course
The Course is an online training program designed to provide general education in housekeeping and room attendant practices. It is intended for individuals seeking to improve their skills and understanding of housekeeping tasks in hotels, motels, serviced apartments and related environments.
The Course is offered and delivered online through our learning platform. You are responsible for having the necessary device, internet connection and basic digital skills to access the content.
2. Non-Accredited Training and No Guarantees
The Course is not an accredited qualification under any national or international education framework. It is an independent training program and does not lead to a government recognised qualification, licence or formal trade certificate.
Completion of the Course and issue of a Certificate of Completion:
- does not guarantee employment or any particular job outcome;
- does not guarantee that an employer will accept or recognise the certificate;
- does not guarantee that you will be assessed as competent for any specific role or task;
- does not replace any legally required training, induction or certification in your country or workplace.
Employers and organisations remain entirely responsible for their own hiring decisions and acceptance of any training or certificate.
3. Eligibility, Account and User Responsibilities
To purchase and access the Course you must:
- be at least 18 years of age, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian;
- provide accurate and current information when creating your account;
- keep your login details confidential and not share them with any other person;
- use the Course for your own personal education only.
You are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe that the account is being misused or these Terms and Conditions are breached.
4. Payment, Pricing and Third-Party Processing
All payments for the Course are processed through Stripe or another third-party payment processor. When you make a purchase you will be redirected to the payment provider to complete the transaction.
We do not collect or store your full credit card or debit card details on our servers. Payment information is handled by the third-party provider in accordance with their own terms, conditions and privacy policy.
By making a purchase you agree to comply with the terms of the relevant payment provider. We are not responsible for any errors, delays, declined transactions or security incidents that arise within third-party payment systems.
Course fees and prices are listed in the currency shown on the website. We may update pricing at any time. The price applicable to your purchase is the price displayed at the time you complete the checkout process.
5. Refund Policy
Because the Course is a digital product and access is provided shortly after payment, we offer a limited refund policy.
You may request a refund within 24 hours of your purchase provided that:
- you contact us in writing within 24 hours of the payment being completed; and
- you have not completed a substantial portion of the Course or downloaded significant materials, as reasonably determined by us.
After 24 hours from the time of purchase, all sales are final and no refunds will be provided, except where required by law in your country or region.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any consumer rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
6. Course Access, Updates and Availability
Access to the Course is granted on a personal basis after successful payment and account creation. We aim to provide reliable access; however, from time to time the website or platform may be unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues or circumstances beyond our control.
We may update, modify or improve the Course content at any time. This may include adding new lessons, revising material or removing outdated content. Such changes do not entitle you to a refund, provided that the overall educational value of the Course remains substantially similar.
7. Intellectual Property and Use of Materials
All Course content, including text, videos, audio, graphics, documents, assessments and certificates, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. Unless expressly stated otherwise, all rights are owned by the Course provider or its licensors.
When you enrol, you receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to access the Course content for your own learning. You must not:
- copy, reproduce, distribute or share the Course materials with others;
- resell, sub-licence or make the Course available to third parties;
- publish Course content publicly online or offline;
- remove or alter any copyright or branding from the materials.
We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe that Course materials are being misused or distributed without permission.
8. Certificates of Completion
A Certificate of Completion may be issued to participants who successfully finish the Course requirements as defined on the website. The certificate confirms that you have completed the Course but does not represent a formal qualification, licence or accreditation.
We reserve the right to withhold or revoke a certificate if we reasonably believe that:
- the Course was completed using false information or impersonation;
- assessment or progress was achieved through cheating or misconduct;
- the certificate is being modified, misrepresented or misused.
9. Health, Safety and Workplace Practice
The Course provides general information on housekeeping practices, cleaning tasks and related topics. It does not constitute professional health and safety training and does not replace any legally required instruction in your country or workplace.
You are responsible for:
- complying with all applicable health, safety and workplace regulations;
- following the instructions and safety procedures of your employer or supervisor;
- using cleaning chemicals, equipment and tools safely and according to manufacturer guidelines.
We are not responsible for any injury, damage or loss that occurs as a result of the way you choose to use or apply information from the Course.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, representations and guarantees, whether express or implied, relating to the Course and the website. The Course is provided “as is” for general educational purposes only.
To the extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any:
- loss of income, employment, opportunity or business;
- indirect, incidental or consequential loss or damage;
- loss or corruption of data;
- injury or damage arising from the use or misuse of information from the Course;
- issues arising from third-party services such as payment processors, internet providers or hosting companies.
Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our total aggregate liability in connection with the Course or website will be limited to the amount of the Course fee you paid.
11. Third-Party Websites and Services
The website and Course may contain links to third-party websites or services, including payment gateways and learning tools. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies or performance of these third parties.
Your use of any third-party service is at your own risk and subject to the terms and conditions of that provider.
12. International Users
The Course is available to users in different countries. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the website, the Course and any certificate complies with the laws and regulations of your country or region, including any rules relating to training, employment, visas or recognition of qualifications.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to the Course or these Terms and Conditions will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
If you are located in another country, you may also have rights under the mandatory consumer protection laws of that country. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to limit any non-excludable rights.
14. Changes to These Terms and Conditions
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The updated version will be posted on the website with a revised “last updated” date. By continuing to use the website or Course after changes take effect, you agree to be bound by the updated Terms and Conditions.
